The Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) is the national regulatory agency superintending over the operation of the oil and gas free trade zones in the country.
It started its operation in 2001 in Onne Oil and Gas Free Zone in Rivers State. Subsequently other oil and gas free zone like Warri, Brass and Ibaka.
OGFZA have a liaison office in Abuja, Nigerian federal capital.
The Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) Nigeria enjoys an unrivalled strategic position in West Africa and is the ideal location from which to establish a distribution hub to service Oil and Gas projects in Nigeria (onshore and offshore) and throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) Mandate are as follows
The Authority is charged with the responsibility to:
- License, regulate, supervise, manage, control and co-ordinate the activities of OGFZs in Nigeria.
- Fixing tariffs.
- Tax-free benefits.
- Incentive packages.
- Grant requisite permit and license to all prospective investors wishing to do business within OGFZs in Nigeria.
- Free Zone Administration.
- Free Zone Promotion.
- Ensure that maximum free zone incentives and benefits are passed to the free zone registered companies.
