It is important to know that there are two bodies that regulate Nigerian oil and gas industry operations. The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) is in charge of upstream oil and gas operations regulations while Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) regulate midstream and downstream operations in the industry.
What is OGISP?
OGISP means Oil and Gas Industry Service Permits
There are three (3) Services categories of NUPRC or NMDPRA (DPR) Oil and Gas Industry Service Permits (OGISP).

Oil and Gas Industry Service permit on NUPRC or NMDPRA (DPR) are mostly the general Permits most people ask for as they are the Permits you need to do various contract, supply and other general Oil and Gas several.
Categories of NUPRC or NMDPRA (DPR) Permits
They are General, Major and Specialized Permits. It is important to note that you chose permit you apply based on services you want to render. Also, one company can apply for the three (3) Services categories Permits (General Permits, Major Permits and Specialized Permits).
