National Broadcasting Commission it is the Federal Republic of Nigeria broadcasting regulator.

National Broadcast was established on 24th August 1992 by the Decree 38 of 1992 and later amended as an Act of the National Assembly by the Act55 of 1999 and now known as National Broadcasting Commission Laws of the Federation 2004, among other responsibilities, they regulate and control the broadcasting industry in Nigeria and also headed by 6 directories.

The commission acts in an advisory capacity to the federal government and gathers data, analyze trends, dynamics and momentary state of the industry.

NBC Functions

Give applications recommendation through the Minister to the President, Commander in chief of the Armed Forces for the grant of radio and television licenses.

Promoting indigenous Nigerian cultures, moral and community life through broadcasting

It regulates and controls the broadcast industry.

Receiving, considering and investigating complaints from individuals and bodies corporate regarding the content of a broadcast and the conduct of a broadcasting station.
