INTRODUCTION
Favor is tangible evidence of the approval of God. Enjoying favor with God and man is one thing, maintaining that favor is another. God lavishes us with favor to be enjoyed in all spheres of our lives. God favors the humble (prov. 3:33-34, James 4:6), and those who obey his commandments: Isaiah 66:2. Also, you must position yourself for divine favor by seeking God with all your heart: prov 8:35. Examples of people in the scripture that enjoyed God’s favor include Noah: Gen 6:8; Ruth 2:10; and Moses, Jesus: Luke 2:52. You can enjoy favor from God and men. Even when you are in an environment that is hostile, when God’s favour is upon you,you will be distinguished. One of the key things you greatly require to enjoy God’s favour is, you must love God and do His will. In Genesis 39:4, the Bible says: “And Joseph found grace in his sight and served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.”
WHAT IS FAVOR?
Favor means God stepping into one’s situation to make a worthwhile difference. Favor is the highway to connect your destiny. In Genesis 6:8, the Bible says: “But Noah found Grace in the eyes of the Lord.” Favor and grace with mercy, are all interwoven to one another. A man cannot amount to anything in life without divine connection. It is her that is loved of God that obtain God’s favor. When you are under grace, economic situation of your environment will not have any effect on you.
Favour can also be referred to as exceptional kindness and privilege from God. II Samuel 9:1says “And David said, is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”
HOW TO PROVOKE DIVINE FAVOR
There is nothing free that has value. As free as salvation is supposed to be, you have to do something to be saved. The favor of God is the heritage of the children but, it has a price tag. There is what you must do to provoke divine favor. The question you should ask is, what must I do to experience the reality of divine favor.
- Righteousness: one of the most important things that you must do is to pursue Righteousness, it is the gateway to divine favor. The Bible says for thou, Lord, Wilt bless the righteous, with favor Wilt thou compass him as a shield. (PSM 5:12). This Righteousness actually implies right standing with God, which is made possible by salvation.
- Annointing Of the Holy Spirit: The anointing of the Holy Spirit is a catalyst of divine favour. In psalm 45:7, the Bible says, thou lovest righteousness and hateth wickedness; therefore God, thy God hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. We see the place of the anointing of the Holy Spirit in provoking the release of divine favour. The anointing of the Holy Spirit put a unique attraction. The anointing emits an aroma, attracts and magnetizes favour. Because of the savour of thy good ointment thy name is as ointments poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee (Song of Sol 1:3).
- Addiction To Kingdom Promotion: To be addicted to Kingdom promotion as a way of life, qualifies you for divine favour (PSM 102:13-15).
That means whatever has to do with God turns you on with delight. Whatever moves him moves you. Whatever has to do with him has to do with you. When you are lost in God, His favour will find you on earth. When promoting his kingdom becomes your lifestyle, the time to favour you has actually come. Every Kingdom addict enjoys the flow of divine favour. Without sweat, Kingdom addiction qualifies you for the sweat-less flow of divine favour. When promoting his kingdom becomes your way of life; His favour becomes your garment. When you ignore God, his favour eludes you and struggle continues (Haggai 1:3-14).
- knowledge: Grace and peace multiply by knowledge. If you want to experience divine favour, then increase your knowledge of God. The more of his knowledge you possess, the more of his favour you enjoy. Strive to know more of God. The more of him you know, the more of his favour flows in your life. The word of God says: Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors (Ignorant) is hard (Proverb 13:15).
THE PRINCIPLES TO SUSTAIN GOD’S DIVINE FAVOR.

Below are some principles that sustain divine favour
- Consistent fellowship with God: Deut. 8:18-19. Favour brings many benefits and prosperity, though we become forgetful when they are unleashed on our lives. Despite the peace and victory that solomon enjoyed as king, he forsook God: 1kings 11:9. It is pathetic to forget the God that gave you everything. God wants you before your offering and tithe. He died for you, not your money.
- Live a life of thanksgiving: 1 thess 5:18. Thanksgiving is the will God in christ jesus for us all. Appreciate God with all your life so that he will do more.
- Prayer: Dan 10:12-13. Don’t just pray until something happens, pray to sustain the good things that happen. Daniel was relevant during the reign of four kings because he prayed to sustain his relevance by asking God for secret things.
